Skills Week

Hey guys,

For those of you who haven't been in a clan in your runescape history won't know what skills week is, but I am sure that for those who have, will know. To me skills week is an important part of a clan because it inspires people to become active and maybe level a skill that they don't particularly like.

What is skills week?
Skills weeks is an event that takes place in a given week that will be announced by either me or Jwc. They can either run every week, once a month, or at any random time. Personally I like once a month but I would love to hear what you guys have to say. Basically, skills week is a week designated for you guys to train 1 skill. Whoever gains the most experience from where they started will be the winner. For instance, if skills week were for woodcutting, you would try to gain as much woodcutting experience as you can in that given week.

What skills will be in skills week?
Any skill that is not combat related. I will be posting a poll above that will let you guys decide what you want as the first skills week.

How will Jwc and I determine the winner?
Like I said above, the winner is the person who gains the most experience in the given skill during the week. Before skills week begins, jwc and I will take the experience you have and write it down. At the end of the week we will then look at the end experience and do the math and see who won. The issue here is that there might not be high scores during pre-alpha so it will be harder to see who cheated or not...but I will talk to Jwc about this.

What are the rewards?
I have not discussed this yet with Jwc, but expect it to be something along the lines of a signature or maybe an in game item. Stay tuned...

Due to lack of space, the poll had to be combined on some of the choices so specify below what you picked as well please.

I'm interested in participating in the first week and I also would like to suggest it happen once a month or whenever we run out of other events. We could also always have a skill day and such. I think the first week should be woodcutting. It's a good idea because the game will be new and it will bring in more supplies for fletching and firemaking.

I always enjoyed skill weeks. Unfortunatly, I was in a clan with a few nolifer that always beat me with a few k exp.
Seems pretty nice to participate and I'll see how it goes.

Yeah they can be quite fun. There is always that one person that will no life it, but it's fun to raise skills that you wouldn't particularly raise.

So the first week will go on during Pre-alpha?

hmm, seems kinda like my idea but sounds great.

Probably in a few weeks because from what I have heard, pre alpha is very unstable.

There are issues with the domain and the connection between server and database. Once that has been solved, the client can run 24/7

Update: the first skills week will be woodcutting and will be held in 3-4 weeks when I return. Sorry for taking so long!
