Skillcapes (Vlog Day 6) Empty Skillcapes (Vlog Day 6)

In this vlog, I discuss my opinion on the possibility of Skillcapes in 2006scape, and the effects they would have on our economy. These effects are, of course, not good. What do you guys think about skillcapes? Let me know in a comment on the video or as a reply to this thread.

Skillcapes (Vlog Day 6) Empty Re: Skillcapes (Vlog Day 6)

Skillcapes definitely did impact the RuneScape economy and I know that for a fact. I was someone who looked at the highscores every single day because it was a big part of the reason for why I enjoyed RuneScape so much. I noticed that people didn't really train firemaking as there wasn't an importance to train it. All you can get out of firemaking when leveling it is the ability to burn even more expensive logs thus losing even more money. The only good that came from firemaking was the ability to make a fire just outside the bank so you could cook food closer. When skillcapes came out, everyone wanted to get a hold of one. People were now grinding skills to get a cape, not just simply because they were having fun or wanted to make money. People were dishing out tons of money to get to lvl 99. People actually started working on firemaking as well. I noticed a dramatic increase in that skill. With the dramatic increase of all skills being grinded, the demand for resource skyrocketed which in turn effected the price of not just the resources, but also the products that could be made from the resources and even all of the other tradable could have had some effect on their prices. It was no longer about the skills anymore, many people didn't care for the skills, they cared for the cape you could get from getting a skill to 99.

@Trail

Firemaking, perfect example of what skillcapes did to the game.

Trail's post about sums it up, bacause of skillcapes it became much harder to make money out of skilling. Also, runescape turned into grindscape. So all in all id also say no to skillcapes.
