Ikr, I can't decide either, I keep saying I'll do mining/smithing. I then say fishing/cooking. Now I was thinking mining/runecrafting. DX

All I can say is create a new runescape account and train ur skills on it to determine your choice. You could also just wait for pre-alpha to train your skills in pre-alpha to determine what skill to train for when the game gets in alpha stage.

The thing with mining and woodcutting is its harder if there are other people, where as fishing it doesn't matter

Personally I prefer mining, but I have a very nostalgic connection to it.

Same, mining/smithing were my first 2 skills I trained after getting off of tutorial island.

I will be starting with mining, that being said though woodcutting is a really easy and enjoyable skill. Food will be in demand as well so fishing might be a good choice.

Yeah, I read that in behind the scenes may. No thieving at release but maybe soon after.

Like they said in the announcements though. Pre-alpha is not a goal to get #1 on the leaderboards. More for making the game even better for alpha!

decided to take some advice and make a runescape account to try out what skills I like. Ill play it until Pre-alpha is released. username is SFT 2006 if anyone is on and wants to play, ill e skilling in Catherby.

Might be a good idea to partner with someone. Back in the day I had a company called CJ Fletch Co. My friend and I were very successful and that led me to 99 fletching!
