Forum layout
Hi
I'd want to suggest something forumwise. Currently all the sections are randomly in one box. Maybe it would be better if there were some sections devided, so there is an organised overview.
Like:

- updates
- Games and events

- Join us
- Introduction
- Goodbye
Discussion
- SFT discussion

- Item discussion
- Skills discussion
- Off-topic discussion

- Selling

- Ingame
This will mean there will be a lot more sub-sections. But this is only a suggestion. Everything at the moment looks just randomly thrown into one layout now.
Let me know what you think

Re: Forum layout
I like what you have here. I am not sure if this is possible on this forum or not. Something that Jwc will have to take a look at.

It's possible, I've used this host before. You can also add sub-sub forums.Thefty wrote:I like what you have here. I am not sure if this is possible on this forum or not. Something that Jwc will have to take a look at.

Maybe a little reorganisation is needed if it's for the better

It's only a suggestion, but it seemed a bit messy in my opinion when I saw the layout. It should be possible for Jwc to change things up a bit.
Re: Forum layout
I like the idea. I've tried doing this before but I don't think the type of board I have chosen allows the sections to be organised in that way. I have attempted this in the past but I may try again to see if it's possible, however I don't think it is.

Would be nice to have it a bit more organised. I do believe you can make some way of organising it. I used to work with vBulltin, but here I believe you can do the same with 'cathegories' or somethinglike that
Re: Forum layout
Aww, I hope it is. If not, is it possible for us to switch hosts or is that too much trouble?Jwc wrote:I like the idea. I've looked into the freeforum capabilities. And it's pretty easy to make a category and a sub-section. It's not easy to organise it, but it is possible.
You can adjust it at the categories and sections tab on the left, then you need to click on the green 'plus' sign and make sure you pick category or forum. After that you can use the green arrows to put a category above another one. The sub-sections should follow the main category.
I know I'm just a new guy. But I would be able to do it in the weekend if you allow me
Re: Forum layout
Dutchtastic, thanks for your input. I have tried that before but it doesn't make the forum seem any more organised. Forumotion doesn't seem to allow you to split up the sections. For example you can create categories but they still stay in same 'box', as it were. I can try it and see if you guys think it's any better I guess but it doesn't split the sections up as clearly as, say, on the 2006Scape forums.
Re: Forum layout
You can make sections. Just go to add a new forum, change the first selection box to category, then create it. Then add a forum to it.Jwc wrote:Dutchtastic, thanks for your input.
