It will be easier to quest if you go main style and level all of the combat skills (attk str def primarily)

Personally I have never really had experience in pking so you really won't find me out in the wildy unless its for rune.

Phats won't be worth that much when they come out. The reason they are so high now is that they are tradable and there are few of them.
